A ROCK AND ROLL ODYSSEY is hosted by an alien, Slipchuck, who comes to Earth in the year 2999, to recover the lost archives of rock and roll and beam them back to his planet on a live broadcast. He discovers and participates in some of the best-loved music of our generation by artists such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Marty Robbins, The Monkees, Elvis, Dionne Warwick, Stevie Wonder, Alice Cooper, Bob Dylan, Barry White, Madonna, Shania Twain, Celine Dion, Ricky Martin, Michael Jackson—the list goes on! There are lots of laughs, including a gong show for the worst songs of the seventies, and a rousing rendition of Chuck Berry’s My Ding-a-Ling with audience participation. This show gave the Mayfield Dinner Theatre another huge hit from November 1999 through February 2000. It ran two weeks longer than its predecessor (Poodles) and yet still managed to sell out to enthusiastic crowds who can’t seem to get enough of this kind of show! Although originally tailored for the millennium celebrations, this show is easily adapted for any year.
